Celebrating a wonderful 3rd anniversary at the Wacky Watercooler. As one of the original crew, I have been invited to participate in this momentous event. Likely you have arrived from Kath's blog. I am always in awe with what she creates. Such an inspiring artist.
Anniversaries are about remembering what has come before and celebrating what is happening now. With that in mind, I decided to add some old with the new in my card. You will notice I have used a stamp which has been around for a long time, three stamp sets which were new in 2013, and a set which was new last year. I have used inks from Stampin' Up! Regal, Bright and Subtle color families. Also, I have used one ink from each of the two current in-color families.
stamps: teeny tiny wishes, flower shop, gorgeous grunge, wetlands, awesomely artistic
ink: garden green, mint macaron (in color 2015-17), so saffron, tempting turquoise, sweet sugarplum (in color 2016-18)
paper: garden green, sweet sugarplum, whisper white
other: woodgrain embossing folder, aquapainter filled with rubbing alcohol
I stamped off the flowers once on my paper before stamping onto the cardstock. The flourish of energy around the dragonfly was created with rubbing alcohol in the aquapainter dipped in so saffron and tempting turquoise. The extra grass lines around the wetlands wheat stamp were created with the aquapainter as well.
And ... may you ...

ReplyDeleteWhat a great combination project, Bev - anniversary and all three "survivor" stamps in one! Combination projects just make me happy. Your dragonfly seems to be quite happy in his spot in the garden, too!
ReplyDeleteAmazing, Bev! You got all the bases covered in one card - and it is gorgeous! Love that Tempting Turquoise dragonfly!!
ReplyDeleteLove your card, Bev! And what a fun technique with the aqua painter and alcohol. Very cool!
ReplyDeleteGreat card combining all three project ideas. Love you twist of the focal piece!
ReplyDeleteBev, it's great that you were able to fit in the Anniversary hop despite getting ready for your vacation. And what a lovely creation you've managed with that Anniversary card. You always present some new (to me) techniques as well. I love the way the alcohol aquapainting behind the dragonfly gives a sense of movement and helps to highlight it. Looking closely, one can pick out the details from each of those three still-current stamp sets. Great idea! A lot of careful planning obviously went into your project.
ReplyDeleteI love how you created that 'flourish of energy' around the dragonfly, Bev. Is there are tutorial or video on how to do that? I just love how you managed to do an 'all in one' for your card - beautiful! I'm so glad that you could hop again with us for this special 3rd anniversary.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful piece of artwork you've created by combining such a great colour selection and the three stamp sets. I really like this anniversary card. Thanks for sharing Bev.
ReplyDeleteYour use of the five different stamps sets has created a stunning card. To use one of the set's name as how I feel about your creativity - you are "awesomely artistic"! Thanks for joining the hop. Happy anniversary!
