Bevism Watercolor -- ebb and flow

It is more enjoyable for me to swoosh colours across the paper with an aquapainter brush than with a paint brush. Probably because there is a constant flow of water at your finger tips without taking the brush off the paper. This card has been entered in two card challenges: Sweet Stampin' - Water, and Splitcoaststampers - IC543.

the feel of sand hugging the toes,
the sound of waves washing across the sand,
the touch of water tendrils trickling across the feet,
then flowing out again to the sea --
Just for today ... enjoy the ebb and flow

-- a Bevism, just for you --

stamps: seaside chair by Stampendous
ink: cucumber crush, delightful dijon, tip top taupe, island indigo, smoky slate, blushing bride, mint macaron, marina mist, soft sky, certainly celery (r), basic black, bleach
paper: island indigo, basic black, watercolor
... and an aquapainter

All comments are appreciated. If you would like more information on how to do this card, let me know.

That's all folks!

And ... may you ...

  1. Bev, I just love this card! You did such a great job with the watercolouring - how did you make the 'foam' on the sand? I wish I were sitting in that chair... :) Thanks for sharing!

    1. Hi Deb! Thanks for you for your comments. I started with a stamp in the set that shows the division between the sand and water. But it didn't look like foam. I brushed on some bleach to whiten it up. Then I watercolored in some smoky slate swirls to show movement and shading. I recently learned that the secret to watercoloring is letting each layer dry before applying the next.
