Ah Fall -- almost there. I know, it doesn't start for a number of days yet, but I know it is coming. Here it starts early at any rate. Autumn is my favourite season. Where I grew up, going for a drive or walk during the fall meant seeing a wide array of colours owing to the numerous maple trees in the area. There were orange, yellow, brown and some still green to be sure, but also many shades of red. I always enjoy how the leaves dance in the wind and circle their way down all the streets.
Our Watercooler Challenges site has taken on a new name and a new format. We are trialing a weekly challenge, and decided the alliteration of Watercooler Wednesday resonated with us. So Wednesday it is. I hope you will join us each week and even play along, if the spirit moves you.
Kath's sketch this week is as follows:
In keeping with my Autumn theme, I decided to use the
lovely as a tree set. Since the oak leaves haven't seen much ink, I chose them to create a masculine card suitable for any occasion. The background colour behind the leaves illustrates season changes as the leaves are falling to the ground.
stamps: lovely as a tree, for all things, tin of cards, perfect pennants
ink: chocolate chip, cajun craze, whisper white pigment ink, daffodil delight, cucumber crush, early espresso, crumb cake, so saffron
paper: cajun craze, whisper white
I hope you will take the time to see what the other artists designed for this sketch. Then, create your version, and upload it to the
Watercooler Wednesday site. Come on, it's fun!
You have to love the Lovely as a Tree, and I am so happy it has managed to survive all these years. The Oak leaves look fabulous! Thanks for sharing.
