Definitely the kits are geared to making stamping easy and fun especially for someone new to stamping. I would say if you're used to doing your own thing, making up the projects exactly as designed will be difficult. I couldn't do it! But looking at the kit as a starting point to make my own projects, it is perfect. Just thought I'd share what I've made.
