A card for a challenge at Craft Project Central CPC50

A demonstrator friend of mine, Buffy, is part of a group of Artists over at Craft Project Central. At the beginning of the week she posted a sketch for a card challenge. Now I dare you to tell me you don't see a cat in this:

I see my sweet, energetic cat, Digit in this design. Here is a photo of her:

For the next few days, when I wasn't doing a bunch of other things, I worked on developing as close a likeness to my cat with punch art as I could. I did look at a lot of examples through Google and Pinterest, but in the end I came up with my own design.  The tail is probably the only part which will have you wondering how I did it. See below:

stamps: watercolor wings (sentiment), for all things (background swoosh)
ink: basic black marker, craft white, gold metallic marker, blackberry bliss, blushing bride
paper: delightful dijon, basic black, soft suede, fancy foil designer gold vellum, white paper doilies

punches:
body: 2" circle
head: 1-1/4" circle
tail: 1-3/4" circle + owl builder
hind leg: 1" circle + word window
ears: two step bird
nose: heart from owl builder
eyes: raindrops from tree builder

You too can enter the challenge! Follow this link.

  1. Hi Bev, what a terrific idea, to incorporate your gorgeous Digit into the design. Of course it's hard to replicate such a beautiful looking cat, but you've certainly come close with your punch art. Did you get clearance from Digit before posting? (grin) The sentiment if precisely how I feel about my own fuzzy-darlings. Beautiful card, Bev. Love everything about it.
